Exercise 27: Colours into tones in black and white

The brief for this exercise was to create a still life arrangement and convert the image into black and white using differing filters (yellow, red, blue and green).

A grey background was used to confirm the correct exposure and white balance.  I converted the images using apples aperture pre-set filters.

Photograph 2: No filter

Photograph 3: Yellow Filter

The yellow filter gives a very subtle image of muted grey tones across the photograph.

Photograph 4: Red filter

The red filter gives a sharply contrasting image with the reds and yellows showing as white and the blues and greens as dark grey and almost black.

Photograph 5: Blue filter

Again a high contrasting image produced with the blue end of the spectrum producing almost white and the red and greens almost black.

Photograph 5: Green filter

The green filter is similar to the yellow filter with mainly muted grey tones across the image.  With the green end of the spectrum toward white and the red toward dark grey.
